چکیده مقاله:
In this study metals (Ni, Cd, Pb, Cu and Co) content of sediment from three sites of Mahshahr Creeks in the northwest of Persian Gulf, together with concentrations of metals in the tissues (muscle and gill) of commercial fish (Cynoglossus arel) from this region were investigated. Studies showed that in all sampling sites Ni had highest concentration in sediment and Cd had lowest concentration. Metals concentration in sediment was below the permissible limits. Generally, concentration of metals in gill tissue was higher than muscle, except for Pb in all sampling sites and Ni in Ghanam. Significant correlation between metals concentration in tissues (muscle and gill) and sediment only found for Ni and Pb. Concentrations of (Pb and Cu) in Muscle of Tonguefish were below the permissible limits provided by standards, but concentrations of Ni and Cd were higher than permissible values.
